Chinese cash coin struck (not cast) during the reign of Emperor De Zong (1875-1908) of the Qing (Ch'ing Dynasty).

Inscription on obverse reads guang xu tong bao.

Reverse inscription indicates that the coin was produced at the mint in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

These coins were struck in very large quantities during the years 1890-1899.
