Hi all, so today i was in a local "Store" (Guys not really a dealer but i let him believe he is) anyway i picked up a roll of Barber Quarters for $4/piece or $160 total. MElt value on these guys is about $3.30 so i paid 70 cents over melt. theres only two Ag's and one real cull the rest are all G + and even a couple F's. so how did i do?
Not bad if you found some semi-key dates or better. Or if you hold on to these for a while (A While is undefinded :< ) they may become very valuable. Your break even selling to a collector with coins only worth melt will be around $20.50/oz Silver.
Lowest price in the 2011 redbook in good condition is $6.00. And it sounds like the majority of yours fit that bill.
Billyray, thanks for your careful observation. Just goes to show me what late nights and tired eyes can do. :rolling: The corrected breakeven is $22.12/oz. So if you wish to sell common Barber Halfs watch for this silver pricing to be at this point. :kewl:
