I'm wondering how mpcusa and onecoinpony are trying to contribute to the OP and his question about what they would do?

If you can read, try Krispy's post, it might do you some good, as we've all read this from you both many times.

    end rant/

You know well what I "ment". Just take a second to Google it, it's not the first version that comes up at the top of the search results, just as you know what you meant by it when you used the acronym in the first place.

At least now you've given proof of your good for nothing badmouthing habits towards ebay/paypal and the usps which you personally dislike for no good reason just as your badmouthing does nothing to help anyone and their problems with those service providers who turn to these forums for support.

The rest of your sentence(?) that mentions 'bay-pal lover' is incomprehensible and likewise meaningless, per usual.

Are you actually claiming that it was not your intention to bad mouth E-Bay in your first post in this thread?

Do you consider talking about Meg Whitman in a thread about paypal "on topic"

Pilkenton, They may have the same reasoning as I do. As a buyer I will not leave feedback first, thats the sellers responsibility imo. Example:

I as the buyerI have paid you and paid you in a timely matter my part of the transaction is done, so why hold back feedback? Once I receive fb I leave my feedback if and when you fulfilled your part of the deal. Are you confident on what you sold? If you are you should have nothing to worry about. ( yes I know there alot of boons out there) Me as a buyer if a seller doesn't leave fb then sends me an email demanding (not asking) feedback won't get fb. If you read the fb structure it is actually stated by ebay that the seller should leave fb when payment is received. You may be dealing with someone like that and won't give fb until fb is given. all my opinion only

My opinion of the opening post is that you just need a little patience and I don't mean for waiting for the money. I have never had a hold and I only have like 335 feedback and 33 detailed ratings. But I am 100% Positive and keep my ratings at 4.9 stars. I only sell occasionally as an addition to my hobby. So my answer would be, that if your selling and often and people are happy with you that in no time you will be clear of the holds anyway so why get too upset. I like that policy, it's another speed bump to the scam sellers that show up, create some feedback than rip someone off and disappear.

I always leave positive feedback whenever I buy a coin (or anything else) on eBay as it's a way to say thank you and also let's the seller know that you received the item. It's common courtesy as I see it. And it only takes about 20 seconds to do.

I have been selling on eBay since 1999 and have found that while most people leave feedback some never do. If they don't want to I don't take it to heart and just carry on. You can lead a horse to water but...

    eBay/Paypal Competition Is Lacking/Greedy

Patience!! I believe the posts taking exception to your proposals and comments are objective, and not intended to invoke hostilities, but merely objective consideration. We, who regularly negotiate the "system" generated by eBay/Paypal, share your frustration, and are in general agreement with the hypothesis you've proposed. I've spent a considerable amount of personal wealth evaluating alternatives, and alternate choices, only to find that the competition has realized that eBay/Paypal have set precedents which allow them to have practices worse than the "established bar". If you objectively evaluate the alternatives, I'm reasonably certain that you will find alternatives worse than existing choices. If these companies were truly egregious as you pose, they probably would have failed, and many have tried to effect their demise, myself included. I currently deal with many alternate entities, but have generally found others ill-conceived, naive, or excessively greedy. One can only hope, but when I view a worldly perspective, I become more accepting. PEACE!!

Indeed Rusty, you can only speak what is true from your own personal experience. However, while you strongly opine (off topic) with words not put in your mouth by others but uttered publicly yourself, words that become the basis for questioning your responses at all, you do nothing to elaborate on your so called "true" statements that fail to do anything to 'help other people' where it pertains to the line of inquiry in the OP. Why? Because you don't elaborate by personal example. Your casual declaration that eBay/PayPal is a joke and you stopped using the service when the companies merged (which is ancient history and before the current policy of the OPs inquiry was in place) isn't reasoning enough nor enlightening to the thread for how it helps the OPs situation. Your comment also belies your other charge that you are just here to have fun. Venting or ranting on these service providers is hardly recreational in the form of phrasing you chose. You can't even admit that you used an acronym to curse in this thread or that you even wrote it or searched it's meaning when challenged on it.

When I buy, I leave feedback when I receive the goods. When I sell I leave feedback and ship immediately after I get word that it's been paid.

I can understand policy. My question was whether it was ok or not to ask the buyer to leave a feedback.

As for the policy, I can't understand why they did this to me. There reasons to why they do this are completely opposite to my ebay record. I have 100% positive feedback. My feedback score is 663. My detailed seller rating is 102.

I spent a few hours yesterday looking on the internet about this. Apparently this is a big deal to an awful lot of people. Some are power sellers with years of experience on ebay. There is even a class auction lawsuit against paypal for this. A lot of people accuse paypal of doing this to collect the interest. That's an awful lot of dough going in their pocket. Something's rotten at paypal. I can see if the seller was high risk, but it seems like they are randomly choosing who they want to do this to. If they're going to do it this way, they should do it to everybody, or nobody at all.

I keep asking you, but it seems that you are doing everything but calling PayPal to inquire about YOUR case?

If you haven't contacted PayPal for answers, I cannot understand why you would spend so much time reviewing other peoples accounts posted online about their experiences which may differ from your own flawless record.

Just call PayPal and ask them the same questions you are asking here. It makes no sense to go on about this here if you can't do the simplest thing as making a phone call. You know you are in the right and their policy is effecting you, perhaps even negatively. Even if you don't get a unique reason from PayPal and they only state their policy, you will have at least tried, given them the chance to speak to and to review your case. After that you may have the answer to your inquiry, or have managed to release the funds earlier than policy states. There's nothing waiting or refusing to call them is going to do to help expedite any action on your account.

Please call PayPal and please let us know what you learn from them.

I have never had paypal hold funds in my account and I only have a 90 feedback. My positive is 100% but thanks to someone who feels the USPS charges too much for shipping my seller rating was down to 4.5 or so on the shipping cost.
Is your account verified? Do you have a backup funding source linked to your paypal? Maybe these may be a reason why? I have had to call paypal in the past when I used my debit card and was accidentally charged twice. They were on it and stopped the second payment immediately. You should probably give them a call.

The lady at paypal told me they did this because when I joined ebay last December I was just buying, then two months ago I started selling. I asked her isn't that what ebay is for.
She didn't have an answer to that. She said accounts are reviewed every 30 days, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Sounds like I'm getting the runaround.

She also looked at my record and said it was very good.

I think they randomly do this.
