    There are some people who have a phobia about showing the full serial # for fear that someone will use the cert verification to copy photos and get any other information they can from the TPGS site.

    Or, perhaps, to conceal the fact that it has been reported as stolen?

    Probably to keep people from entering it to their Registry Sets, but i'm not sure if that's a real risk anyways, especially since the full serial number of this coin is listed in the details of the listing.

    Here's the seller's reply to an inquiry:
    I'm not clear how taping the serial number in the picture and then listing it in the description protects against the number being stolen, but then I'm not a computer geek.
