1936-D 3 1/2 Legged Buffalo

    There was a short article in the last issue of the CoinWorld (p14) about this coin - and a very good picture.

    Just checked the last couple issues of Coin World and didn't see the article/pic. What date is the Coin World you mentioned? Thanks

    Sorry for the delayed response -was out of town for a few days.

    It was May 10 issue, page 14.

    Found the article, thanks. So, the article states there are more than one variety of the 1936-D 3 1/2 leg. Now looking for die indicators to identify the DIFFERENT varieties. There must be a professional grader out there that can tell us how to authenticate them.

    I have been doing more homework on the coin. I will update when I have some new information. StateQuarterguy~ let me know what you find out, I am excited to know.:)

    now im not knocking the coin at all. its more then what ive got.

    but looking at it it honestly looks like a 35 that has been tampered with to make it look like a 36.

    but like you said the pictures dont do it justice.

    I would be really intrested to see what a grading company has to say, and I hope they say its a 36 3 1/2 legged
