    Today's find in Bank Rolls

I found these two seperate variations in the same bank box.

Notice the extra copper on the left hand of Lincoln in the second photo?

Okay did my very first $500 box of Kennedy halves. Here's what I got

1966...my very first pulled silver from circulation!!!!
    1967
    1964...first 90% pull
    *1998 S

Not a whole lot, but I was just glad to get something. I would have been happy with just one, but getting the other 3 was great! I know some guys get skunked for boxes and boxes.

I got my box from US Bank. After I got it, I asked the teller if it would be okay if I ordered boxes about once a month. He said once I had an account I could, but there would be a charge, I asked how much, but he couldn't say. I'm not sure if I will keep ordering from here, I guess it depends on the price, so I will find that out first.

On another note, my 2nd $500 Halves box should be here in 2 days at my bank, First Midwest. I was upfront with them and let them know what I was planning on doing. He said they could order, however, I'm not sure how many times they'll let me order as well without charging. I guess it's only fair if they want to charge a fee because it is extra time and money on their part, and I don't have a large account with them. Guess I'll have to wait and see how it goes. But it sure will suck getting charged when I get shutout in the future, especially if it happens up to 10 boxes or more in a row like some people here have gone thru.

So as it stands I have 2 banks I can order from, however, one wants to charge, not sure about the other.

Regardless my total Halves so far is
    90% x 1
    40% x 2
    S proof x1

I'm brand new to this myself but my bank orders me boxes every week, no questions asked. Well she asked why I needed them the first time and I felt weird so I made up some story. Anyway, there shouldn't be a charge for you. The bank just adds them to the list of coins they want to be delivered. I guess the only reason they should charge you is if they use a service that charges them.

They have been checking my account balance the last few times I went in for boxes. I'm guessing if it drops to low they might start charging me.

2 boxes of halves, shutout. Except for 82p no fg. Found more silver in a box of nickels, 2-1943p's. I have 8 boxes of halves ordered for next Wednesday...hope my luck changes. I guess a two box shutout streak isn't too bad, considering bobbeth had around 12 or so. We'll see.....

I think I went to a total of 6 different banks , credit unions & check cashing outlets before I was able to find a merchant teller at one BofA that was willing to order boxes of cents and rolls of halves for me. They all tell you that they can do it but only if you have an account with them. Well I do not have an account with any of them and I do not have to pay a fee for the boxes or rolls that 2 places do order for me. I let my best teller connection know that when I am ready to open a bank account again , that it will be with them , as they have proved that they can provide me with the best customer service. I do not reveal that I am looking for silver but & do explain that I enjoy looking for mint error coins. As far as spending a couple hundred dollars worth of halves , no problem , since I am a big coffee drinker. I do end up paying a fee for the cents since I do not re-roll the rejects but just dump them in a CoinStar machine.

Kanga and others: If you are searching boxes of pennies for coppers you can dump the zincs into the Coinstar for free if you choose the gift card option. I've rec'd full value for depostited coins by picking Overstock and Lowe's gift cards.

My parents live in northern Michigan and travel around quite a bit. They have snagged about $300 in halves for me in the past month....from small town banks.

Brinks boxes have been a bust for me lately.... Let's see how I do at the small town banks... (I have a good feeling)

They are trained to make small talk with customers so many won't care whatever you say. I like to say we play poker with halves and Ikes unless I think I can find a teller who will help me with my coin hobby.

lol I work car sales, so on those really bad weather days we just sit around.

went through another 20$ bucks of nickels and 7 of pennies and found

    Pennies
    1919s
    1954s
    two 1958d's
three canadians (I save them for later so I can make a album)

    Nickels
    No date buffalo
    1940
    plenty of 50's
    one candian.

LOL was really excited to just get a buffalo, the no date is a bummer but its ok.
