I found this in a roll this weekend. I actually gasped when I saw it. I know it is at least a F-15, but what would you grade it (I'm a complete novice at grading). I know it isn't anything rare, but it was rare for me to find (only the 2nd buffalo I've ever found in circulation), and I was thrilled!!! Thanks for looking.
That would be a 30/35. Nice find. I cannot remember the last time I found a Buffalo in circulation, but it has been decades.
Oddly after not finding anything in circulation for years, I found a silver war nickel (1943-P) and a Buffalo Nickel within two days of each other last week.
Bob sweet find! I have found just a couple of these since I have been searching my first one I have found is my favorite:
I think I see some luster...enough luster that I'd grade the coin XF. Yeah, yeah, I know what the standards say about the horn. I don't care.
Awesome buffalo and your right they are not very common anymore and I have yet to find one in circulation. I would say VF also.:mouth:
I've never found a buffalo in circ...congrats! That had to have been recently added into circ, as even a non-coin collector would keep such an odd looking nickel if they came across it in their pocket change...especially it being 74 years old. -LTB
Yeah yeah, I know ya missed me. Glad to be back, I'll be here even more when school lets out. June 3rd baby!
