He means look at the year. As for being a 63 whatever it was its hard to tell from the pic. Pic looks garbled up so might look worse than a 63.

Yes, the year. Sorry - didn't mean to come off as a jerk. No hard feelings!

The 1964-D Peace Dollars were all(?) destroyed after they were minted. Owning a '64-D is illegal :)

    It's a fake as there are no 64D Peace's...or are there ;)

  7. This thread got side-tracked on the infamous 1964-D. Anyone care to guess the grade of my 1927P (see post #79)? Thanks. TC

    Just FYI:
The coin was photoshopped, the 1964 D's were struck, but SUPPOSEDLY all were melted.

It is illegal to own one.

I'm still new to taking/ uploading digital photos of coins at such close range. I'll give it my best shot, but mine seem a little amatuerish compared to some of the masterpiece photos I see on here.

I've uploaded pg 1 of my Dansco album and a close up of the 24 in BU

Overlooked maybe? Did you leave a Note when u send your coins to them and did you ever ask them why? Maybe a doubledie or doubling..
Anyway it's better sometime to see them in person and show your coin before you decide to slab it with a good grade..:kewl:

  19. I am torn between AU58 and MS64 as it is hard to tell luster from that photo. I will go with AU58. It is a great coin regardless. The 1927 I posted earlier was graded MS63 by PCGS although IMO it is an MS64. TC
