    Hello!
I happend to find an old russian bronze medal, that i keept for many years.

    Diameter size is 9 cm.
    Thikness is 7-8 mm.
    Weight is about 250 gram.

    I think, pic 3 says:
"Peninsula Krim and island Tamansky became Russian in 1783"

And I think the person on the front is Catherine II of Russia:

Hi, Floow! Welcome to the neighborhood!

I assume that the medal is spherical, like a globe. The photos are a bit too small for my bad eyes. perhaps someone else will be able to help you.

    Good luck,

    Chris

Krim was conquered during the reign of Catherine the Great (1762-1796). This is the commemorative medal.

My apology. My eyes aren't that good anymore, and I thought you said 9mm rather than 9cm. That's why I thought something 9mm x 8mm might be spherical. My mistake!

    Hi Floow,
I saw your post while trying to research my own medals. When I was younger I had found all these what I believe to be Russian medals in the woods. I have had mine for years too. I was just wondering where you were from or where you got yours from. Thanks!
