Thanks. I think I'll also post it outside of this thread on the main board to get opinions. I gasped when I saw it!!!.

If I were you I would post it in the Error thread. I have an 1918 S like it except the reverse is the same. Looks like doubling to me but one never knows.

    Nice find !

Need a clearer larger shot of the mint mark to compare to the picture in the Cherrypicker's guide book.

My girlfriend and I went to some local banks to see if they had any half dollars. At one bank we picked up $16.50 in half dollars. Inside the roll we found the following:

    1892 barber half dollar
    1942 walking liberty half dollar
    1966 half dollar
    (2) 1968 D half dollars

And we also found a 1984 D half dollar which is the last half dollar that was minted for circulation that we needed for our book :).

    Excited.....

Wow, great finds by so many people. I'm completely new to all this. I have my first box hopefully coming tomorrow, and maybe one on Friday or next Monday. Can't wait to see what I get.

I would be thrilled to just pull one 40% coin out of any of them. I guess I'll have to wait and see. I will post results as soon as I get 'em and open them!
