I have taken an unpopular opinion on several issues on this foum. You have blocked some of my threads, but have not pulled the plug as was the case on the PGGS board when I was caught in the "big purge" a couple of years ago. I am an advocate of first amendment rights, and freedom of speech seemingly is respected here. For this, I thank you.
There is no "freedom of speech" here. This is a private board and it is completely up to Peter what he leaves and what he does not. Now, Peter pretty much leaves things alone so long as you follow his rules, but they have nothing to do with "freedom of speech".
Holy Cow! This is a momentous post as I usually get a LOL Children on the forum please do Keep it clean
No,not more friendly,I would say they do their job the way it should be done. And I respect people that work that way.I dont know the moderators.but I have seen a few threads in action. And I liked their approach.I find this forum to be the best around.and people respect this place better than others.kudos to the moderators whoever you are,you do things right,& run a tight ship.and it runs well.
Well, I may have spoklen too soon. I just received a warning that, if I am not a good boy, I will be bleeped. I'll continue to say my piece and will suffer the consequences. This fourm is oft booring, and I believe I add needed "pizzaz". If I am bleeped, it was nice "speaking" with all of you.
I've received a couple of violation notices, and I can't say that I didn't deserve them. On a couple of occasions, I have neglected to use better judgment when dealing with a poster who asks for help and then chooses to argue with the very people who are trying to provide him/her with answers based on their decades of experience. This, to me, becomes rather exasperating. I realize that better judgment should have told me to give up and walk away from it, but I really don't like the idea that newcomers to coin collecting may read those posts and be given incorrect or misleading information which could cost them money down the road. With that said, I think the moderators are doing an excellent job, and I do not want to jeopardize my status on this wonderful forum. Chris
I don't have to I don't have to disagree with you on everything. But I support your right to be wrong. and not on these points.:high5:
MJT, This forum is a private enterprise and the moderators get to choose the rules, whether you or anyone else likes them or not. I respect how they want to run this site, that's why I participate. No one is forcing me to be here, it's my choice BECAUSE I like their rules. And if I violate their rules, free speech or not, I respect their right to enforce their rules however they see necessary. As for this thread, you are self-servingly only giving one side of the reason you started this thread. Here's the other. I started a simple coin photo thread and you chose to post UNCALLED FOR demeaning and negative remarks directed toward me on that thread. You were asked to stop by me, other members, and the moderator, yet you chose to continue with your ranting on my thread. And not only were your remarks negative, they were OFF TOPIC. You were even told you could simply start your own thread if you wanted to continue with the topic you felt so strongly about, but you stubbornly kept posting the same rantings on my thread - THAT'S WHY YOU WERE WARNED. Here's the thread in case everyone wants to see for themselves. http://www.cointalk.com/t107151/
Ya Gotta love this place Ya Gotta love this place. Read the Rules on allowed Content on this Forum Or is that spelled pennys? Whatever the cross thought, a response can be invoked. Anyway.....Please Please Please keep your "Coins" forthcoming Penny Lady and let this bloke wallow in his cents. This is his thread to bare (bear?) now. And GOOD JOB MODS for pointing out neutral corners until a KO is decided.
You're operating on the premise that ths forum falls under jurisdiction of the constitution. Well it doesn't. This is a privately operated forum created by 1 or more individuals and they choose what's appropriate for the members to view. Since you have one post already with red fonts in it, whatever you posted there has been removed and edited by a moderator or administrator as they felt it violated the posting rules and since it was changed to remind you of who visits the forum, it must have been a serious violation. This is no different than your local coin club. They make the rules, or bylaws, and the members agree to abide by them. There's no 1st ammendment rights guaranteed in the rules there, or here.
This may be my last post on this forum, but let's set the record striaght. You post newps here to promote your business and say that I acted self-servingly. Kettle calling the pot black? The so-called "demeaning and negative remarks" primarily were directed at the difference between a penny and a cent, and everything I said was absolutely accurate and truthful. You may take umbrage to the reference to being a novice, but I started a coin store in 1964 so the shoe fits from where I sit. If the moderators elect to bleep me for saying my piece, so be it. If so, good bye to all and, to quote David Hall, "have fun with your coins".
How is posting NEWPS from her personal collection promoting her business? Your calling her out was in poor taste then, and mischaracterizing her posts as advertisement is equally poor. Furthermore, trying to justify your "novice" comment because you have more experience than her 15 years is a weak attempt at salvaging decency where there is none. Do you ever wonder why you've been banned everywhere else? Do you wonder why many of your posts are met with negativity? A long hard look in the mirror is warranted, IMO. I truly hope you can correct the problem and contribute -- you do have the knowledge and experience to do so, I just wish you would use it constructively. Is that too much to ask?
