1926 Buffalo Nickel F Underdate

    I thought it was a mintmark because of the location but have sense learned it is the designers intial. Does anyone know it's value ?

    The images give limited scope, but I see some scratches, and grade looks to be about VG. It's probably worth 30c to 50c.

    The letter "F" is the initial of James Earle Fraser, the artist who designed the Buffal Nickel.

    i have the same F on my 1928-S and was wondering the same thing.

    they all have an F. at least every single one i own does, and that is over a 100.

    The F was on all Buffalo Nickels, without exception, although it is possible that an extensively worn piece may no longer have it.

    As mentioned earlier, it is the designer's initial.
