So I have a few coins, and started to look them up to see what they are worth, but I am getting totally confused with the whole " grading" process. By what I have seen and read so far, a few of them look like they a worth a little. Anyone have any opinions/info on any of them? Thanks!

I had this up on a photography website, and someone directed me over here!

The gold indians pieces are nice and should have a nice value as alot of collectors seek them ,but im not really a gold guy. The barber dime looks to be a nice grade with lots of detail but I cant make out the year. Some of your Peace dollars have a nice strike, which many dont and should get a nice grade. To me the Morgans seem to be worn somwhat but are still nice coins to own. Sorry I can't grade them but someone will come along who can.:D

    Thanks!

    The dime is 1916

At a glance, there aren't any special coins there; all are common dates, and none are in outstanding grades (I suspect the gold is ex-jewelry). That having been said, everything in the picture has value. I would guess mid-three figures for the lot.

Thanks, I took some of them to a dealer, and they offered me 470 for the 2 gold ones, but I decided to keep them.

$470 for those two gold coins is a bit low. They should of offered more like $520 for them, unless they were extremely worn, which yours don't appear to be.

That would have been a fair offer IMO if the coins had problems. One of them at least appears to have been polished.

Would the other non-gold coins be worth anything just by the looks of them?

If you listed the date and mintmark for each coin it might be easier for folks to give you an idea of value. The 1935-S Peace dollar might be worth something decent, but the rest of the silver coins look quite generic. The price of $470 may have been quite fair if the coins are damaged, but it might be a little less than you could get, too.

Sure. They look pretty generic, but even generic circulated silver dollars have value. The silver in those alone is worth roughly $15 per coin at today's prices. You might not get that, but it should be close.

Seem like some nice coins. $500 is about what I would expect to get for the gold coins given the condition. Nice set.
