This happened tonight The coin is hot-glued in. It's well plated or gold. The pedestal is solid and very heavy. I MUST see the reverse! Anyone recognize this coin or maybe that moutain? I'm taking it out if no one knows!
I plan on taking it out...but it's not brass lol. Unless you just guessed the base material correctly, if it's not what every lotto player quietly hopes for... Whaddya you think, this is my first day collecting? I know it's clearly not a coin of any denomination...slow down there with the "FAKE! Take it out with a rusty screwdriver!"
I own a handful of these...and they have no denomination. Just to make a fun point https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces6898.html
To me the color is actual gold color, and more accurate in the first two pics. The last two pics where at home under a very bright led light and I tried to line it up for no reflections at two different angles.
I actually brought it home tonight...sooooo maaaayyyybeeeee tooooommmmoorrrrrrrooooowwwww...maaayybe Suuunnnddayyyy... ...Nothing found in google images for the coin or the mountain.
Could be this Franklin Mint piece!!! I LOOOVE FM! Worthpoint says it's 24k but doesn't say whether it's plated https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/save-eagle-proud-free-signed-ted-480089176 EDITED for this... "embelished with 24k gold" Still excited it's a FM piece!!!
I'll just say, if the $2.99 sticker on the wooden base is any indication, there isn't a whole lot of gold in that thing.
Someone in another forum found it!!! It was the pedastal for an eagle sculpture by the same artist. What a lazy glue job they did on the coin on this one lol. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/26870397_franklin-mint-porcelain-bald-eagle
I often wonder why dealers put those stickers on antiques? They don't come off without ruining the product.
