    Greetings everyone,

I think I scored a pretty good deal today - I got 5 sets of the 2006 Silver Eagle Anniversary coins and paid $200 each. The guy claimed he had ordered them all from the mint directly but I dunno about that as he actually had 6 sets but in one of the sets were 3 2001 silver eagles including one of those cheesy hologram silver eagles instead of the reverse proof... who knows.

Anyway I haven't had a chance to look them over very closely but at first look I think 2 of the reverse proofs are showing some pink toning around the edges but the other 3 look good. But even with the toning I think I got a good deal.

What do ya think? Good deal?
    THANKS!
    J

I recall these going for at least $575 a set and they likely crested $600 for a while. In the longterm I think these are good sets because of eventual collector demand for the reverse proof.

I got my NGC PF-69 reverse proof for $162 with bid sniper and that was one of the lowest prices around that time. $200 for the complete set is very good if they are untouched from the mint.

Great deal. I'm looking to ad this exact set to my collection.

I think at their Absolute highest they were selling for either $649 or $699 in the ads of the more popular magazines.

Awesome thanks for the responses! After looking them over all of the UNC and regular Proof coins look pretty good. I am no good at telling the difference between 69's and 70's but out of the 5 Reverse Proofs Looks like I got 2 which appear to be flawless and 3 which have some slight imperfections like some toning and I noticed a spot on the back of one. But over all I am definitely happy! Sure would be nice if they go up to over $500 again!

At $200, I would say you got a good deal. I typically see these run around $275-300. This is where they have been for the past few years.
