I didn't start out collecting Lincoln's... I started out collecting Silver proof State Quarter's....Yes, I wanted the State Quarter's for my family, to hand down as a heirloom, but I wanted the Best offered, and Silver where the ones.. Then when they ended, I was wondering what else I could collect. Then came the 2009 Lincoln's craziness....People said Wait, wait.... Then the crazy mint comes out with the LP1's, and at the same exact price of their 2 roll nickel prices....edited We said no way those edited US mint people are going to rip off like this.. And then we dont buy, thinking they will produce unlimited rolls soon enough.. Well, they ended...edited...o lincolns..... Then I bought a hoard of Lincoln rolls, and millions of raw... I will post later what i got.
I'm wondering where you would buy "millions" of lincoln pennies. Would you need a dump truck to get them home? I have a box with a few thousand cents and it weighs about fifty pounds.
Assuming just 1 million, here are some details: -If you searched non-stop 24/7 spending only 5 seconds per coin it would take you 57 days to search them all. -They would weigh in at over 3 tons. -Laid back to back in 50 roll boxes they would take up approximately 1200 square feet of floor space. You can tell I have nothing to do this Saturday morning!
I wonder how long it would take to put all those suckers into air tight holders? It simply boggles the mind.
I'd love to see the reactions on the faces of the people at PCGS when they see a U-Haul full of a million Cents pull up for grading. Think they'd give him a volume discount?
