Well my daughter just got her first Disney Dollar in the mail today! And boy is she excited!! Since PCGS starting grading these and Putting them in registered set,s she decided she wanted to collect Just like me So we searched the web and found this one together, She likes The Pirates of the Caribbean movies and "Jack Sparrow" So She decided on this one! Enjoy
Congrats on getting your daughter involved in collecting and all the best with the collection to come! There is a dealer at the coin shows I go to in the St. Pete/Tampa area that consistently has many of these raw and graded. There are some really neat ones!
mpc, I don't collect currency, and certainly not play money, but I was wondering what this cost you? If I don't mind asking...thanks..
^^ x2..if you don't mind.. that is pretty cool that they grade them. i am going to look into this "play money" collecting. i am not a big fan of disneys pirates movies, but i love real pirates of the 17-1800s. plus i will collect anything that could bring value!
not just pirates theres mickey too http://cgi.ebay.com/1995-1-Disney-Dollar-Mickey-Disney-Castle-PCGS-67-/180498272985?cmd=V
The cost to collect Disney dollars is very reasonable, I got this Example for under $20 thats less then what it would cost to grade It, Anytime you can do that your ahead of the game! As far as being play money, Maybe but anything Disney is highly Collectable and highly valued!!
Disney dollars are catching on fast and a great way to get the kids involved in the hobby. I'd get a hold of Larry ------- who has got the Disney $ bug and has quite an assortment for sale from what I understand. emards4457@msn.com
Excuse my ignorance...but are Disney Dollars purely collectible or are they something like Disney's version of traveler's checks??? I just got back from the Magic Kingdom and saw a lady with an envelope filled with them...so I didn't know if they're for spending or collecting. Regardless, I think they're neat. -LTB
Amazing, but not suprising that something disney is doing this. My wife has been going to Disney since she was little and I know she has disney bills in all of the albums from their trips when they were growing up. Might be time to pilfer the photo albums and use the money for something else. A cool idea for the kids, thanks.
