Ike with a shiner Been watching this thread and decided to pull out my ugliest remaining Ike. I call him my"Ike with a Shiner". Now where do I learn about the "Other Variety" stuff?
There could very well be more. ANACS has not graded any at 67 and PCGS/NGC don't recognize the variety to attribute. However, if it comes out in the next CPG, at least PCGS will then we'll know how many there are. I kinda lucked into this one as it was on a Teletrade auction where I was able to view the coin in person. Otherwise I would not have bid since the MS67 business strikes are VERY expensive!
:vanish: You can't put "don't look" in the post as we have already see the coin by then!! But back to the coin...WOW never seen tone on an IKE like that. Nice. Do you think it's NT? It's RNT either way That's Real Nice Toning
I like the coin (or the slick coin photography) but I'm not crazy about that glowing edge around the rim of the coin, as it's kind of distracting for me.
Thank for sharing them! :secret:there real nice to me they look NT:thumb: as the Red Proof sets were known to leak
Dok U Mint Nice Shiner there. On the Obverse I can just barely make out what looks like a "Talon Head Die Clash" Not sure though. On the reverse I can see a "Moon Line" Die Clash just above the D and O of Dollar. Also a "Jaw Line" Die Clash coming off of the South and East of the Earth . Very Cool. The place to check these varieties on your coin and many others is a web site called The Ike Group.http://www.ikegroup.org/ A Great place for researching Eisenhower Dollar Varieties. Mad.Outcast Great Toners:thumb: Love seeing Toned Ike's Terry
Newp Ike Dollar: Guess the grade? Here is a pic of my newly acquired 1974P Ike dollar. I am trying to learn how to grade this series. Take a guess at the grade. TC
well my opinion on the one grade down,Is like driving the car off the show room floor after signing the papers lol..No seriously I rather have the one grade down then see if can go the + value
