be careful of the e-bay "no listing fee promotion" the final value fee on the first 5 auctions free promotion are almost double what regular final value fees are..I found this out too late...spoke with e-bay and they said only way to opt out of the "free listing fee" promotion was to use turbo-lister...so I am trying it..the listing fee on my $50 roll of 40% halves was 75 cents, but my final value fees should only be around 5 bucks instead of 10...will let you know. my auction ends tonight

Since I wrote this, both these guys asked for a total, with the combined shipping. I was able to save the one five bucks. Cool, that's a five dollar saving for me, too. I'm still waiting. The other guy broke about even. Since then, he's bought a few more things from me, and he keeps wanting me to redo his invoice. I don't know if this is normal. If it is, I won't worry about it. I just got rookie jitters, I guess. I spoiled myself. When I buy things, I usually pay immediately. I'm not used to waiting a week or longer to get my money.

I have not sold on ebay, only purchased. I would think that you might consider putting a timeframe on combined purchases. IE, you will combine shipping on items purchased for 3 consecutive days only. As a buyer I totally understand your need to keep your accounting clean, and 99.99% of people will also understand. I would tell you that since it seems they are good customers I would let the 2nd buyer know that you will give them a final invoice at the close of your auctions today or tomorrow and will not combine any more autions with that transaction. Let them know you do not want to let the situation get out of control. No need to have 2 weeks of auctions on one invoice. Trust me, they will understand, and you should let them know you are learning as you go as well.

Aren't you the kid who thinks Craiglist is better than ebay? You should try selling more than 2 items on ebay before you state an opinion. Sellers don't want to wait 2 weeks to be paid.:eating:

Update---I sent these two another invoice. Still haven't heard from one. The other got back to me. He wanted to continue his buying, with me adding to his list. I wrote him back, explaining that some of his purchases were a week old, and if he squared up, we can start all over again. He pm'd me back, saying that was no problem. He paid me. I still got another guy that bought a Morgan from me and never paid. I've emailed him a couple times, and he never got back to me.

I agree! The fees do add up pretty quick specially if you add any extra options like highlighted, bold etc.

Listing fee (including the amount of pictures, additional options), final value fee (means they take money from what you sold the item for), Paypal fees (now owned by ebay I believe) and what else?

If you got good stuff, it's well worth it but if not, you better hope you make enough profit to pay those fees or else you'll be paying fees out of pocket....LOL

You can also sell on CoinSpace for a much lower fee and such. Fair amount of members who buy lower and circulated coins.

Sounds like your being lead around by your nose, (not trying to make you out to be any less then a smart guy) but I too have been lead around by the nose by online Buyers where I lost a full price sales.

eBay, Craigs List, any online auction house it's always Seller/Buyer Beware. I only buy from eBay Sellers who by my research have a proven record. Craigs List for me is pretty much a total waste of time, to much corruption attached to that link to bother.

I dont want to wait two weeks either, but honestly what are you going to do? if you had an understanding you will realize that one guy makes a huge difference. If he is bidding on my other items then I am making more money. Now if you dont like making money than you should certainly tell this guy to stop bidding on your other items and pay imediatley. you wont have to tell him to put you on his block list because will allready have done it.

arent you the same guy that thinks it is dumb to say thank you to customers?

BTW I have over 200 feedback which I know is peanuts to alot of people but I think its enough to have an understanding of ebay. Its not rocket science.

I got an email today from the other guy. He said he's got a computer virus that won't let him use paypal. He says he will pay when the virus is fixed.

Pilkenton don't listen to these children who's only job has been a paper route. They have no concept of ebay, nor the real world. Most are still in high school. Ignore the children. Their entire knowledge of ebay is watching their mom sell beanie babys on ebay. True!

File a non payment claim today.

I can understand a computer problem, as mine fatally crashed Monday, But, why doesn't he log in on another machine to complete the purchase ? If computers were not literally everywhere I might go along with it, but it makes no sense.

I believe I would apologize to him for not being able to hold the purchase and wish him good luck on his bidding when the item is re-listed. You should file the unpaid item report immediately. The fact is, he hasn't paid. If you know you cannot make the payment, why are you even bidding ?

Who cares if you lose the sale ? Certainly the amount of profit cannot be worth the headaches this guy has caused ? Forget about keeping this buyer, they are like a high maintenance girl friend. Sooner rid of them the better.

    My opinion anyway.

Maybe you are their competetion ? When your stuff is tied up in dispute, they can sell theirs ? Just a thought.

I just want to make it clear that im not condoning buyers that give the runaround. I just think they should be able to keep bidding on items. once bidding stops than i agree its time to pay.

Everybody agrees that you need the buyers. And I think you can tell by the nature of their communications whether you want to keep them as customers. I only sold but a few items that I didn't need, so I cannot speak from much experience. But it sure sounds like this buyer is "squirreley". LOL

You are wrong again. Your FB as a buyer means zero. You are showing you don't how to sell. You really need to quit posting 10 times a day and listen to people that know more than you. You have alot to learn.

Your inability to grasp that putting into an ebay auction "Thanks for looking" is so superfluous; renders all your opinions moot.

Let me know when you have Power Seller/Top Rated status. Then we will listen to you, until then you are showing how little you know about selling.:eating:

The guy still hasn't paid. I'm gonna give him until tomorrow. Someone here says file a non-payment claim. If I give him a time limit and he doesn't answer, can't I just re-list or do I have to file a non payment claim?
