...but they will also need to buy the empty cases from sellers on eBay who sell their Lincoln Coin & Chronicle sets after they get those 'case' sellers get their coins TPG graded. So maybe add another $20 - $50 dollars expense. IF this set stays hot its worth it, if not so hot, maybe not worth the time, effort and expense of assembling elements separately... however if you get cents with spots, you should not complain and should not send back the LN6 set to mint, instead buy the 4 pc Lincoln Proof set and replace them in your set with clean coins. To send the LN6 coins back would mean you loose the silver proof coin and case itself, plus shipping costs.

krispy.. that's a very good idea. if the mint declare sell out. and you return it. the mint can not made replacement. it will turn out to be cancel by them.

Will the cents in the chronicles set be easy open like proof sets?
    Hope so...

If the capsules are not the sealed type then yes otherwise they may crack if you try to open them or hope for reuse. Depends on which type they use in this instance. Some proof coins used to open easily and other proof coins have come sealed in the past. Have to wait to see what they send us.

I bet this instance/application for the cent capsules will be very secure and may be actually airtight since they're prone to tarnish (the mint sets even include a "disclaimer" of sorts reflecting the special treatment to prevent toning/spotting).
Maybe they will have a "note" with the chronicles too.

Elaine -- Sorry I may seem so ignorant, I do not get on here a lot, but these quotes - are they what is supposedly actual mintage from the mints that you are stating ? I am curious, and since I have a great interest in the Lincoln cent coins over the years, I would like to know what the year 2009 all means in the overall production of these year coins, and maybe the 2008 and 2010 years. Especially in the Denver mint figures since I am in the west. Can you help me out here, or should I e-mail privately ? Is there a way to do this on the coin forum, or not allowed ? Thanks for your time and any considertion, coins are beautiful aren't they ? :high5:
Please excuse my poor knowledge of coins and mintages in general .....
