There is no such thing as a 1932-S WQ proof. In fact, the US Mint made no proof US coinage for the years 1917-1935.
I know that there are copys/replicas to "look" like a proof, ... ok thanks for the info. Much appreciated!
Please let me amend that statement about no proof US coinage to exclude silver dollars and commemorative issues, which were made in very limited numbers during certain years and for certain issues. My initial post was with respect to the traditional one cent through fifty cent proof sets that the US Mint made just prior to 1917 and just after 1935. I hope that was clear.
This is the link to the replicia of the 1932-s quarter that looks like a proof. http://cgi.ebay.com/1932-S-WASHINGTON-QUARTER-PROOF-EXACT-SIZE-COPY-/200408422197?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2ea945d735
That's a copy. You'll also notice under the Ask Seller a Question link, is a link to the Maryland Mint, open it and everything listed there is replica or copy in the ad title.
So then it wouldn't have to have copy/replica on the coin as there were no actual proofs made, correct? It looks nice, espically without the copy/replica stamped on it. I think the nose looks too large though! lol!
Obvious reproduction, but the item discription lists San Francisco as the production mint. Very misleading for the uninitiated......
