There's a few threads here about this guy. Most say he's a rip-off. To me, that's a lot of money, but I've seen him sell the same thing for a whole lot more.

I guess you will know how you did when you open the roll and see what is inside. I hope you at least break even but I hate to say you probably will not. "Unsearched Rolls" on ebay are scams

Jeff - thanks for posting. Indeed it seems the vast majority of "unsearched roll" auctions on ebay are a bit dicey.

Let's be honest.. how many times have you rolled cents, and accidentally included a dime on the butt-end of a roll without noticing?

That said, I think it's admirable that you thought enough of your purchase to post an enquiry here on the forum about it. All any of us can do is 'live and learn', and hope others are kind enough to share their own wisdom and guidance gained from their own past experiences.

Next time, perhaps you could post your item of interest in advance of auction closing?

In addition, for me, I constantly read and research :)

If it was a footlocker of pennies, I might believe it was "unsearched" but a single roll?

I have bought unsearched rolls of wheats as well as indian head. I like the price I was getting on both, but I always bought them assuming I would not find the 1878 or the 1922 no d. I think it's safe to figure out the price on the two coins he describes and assume the rest will be the more common wheat penny dates. If that is what you want, and you like the price then go for it.

Its funny how you can watch the steps of these low life sellers on ebay. Almost every one of them has the same thing and most of the time people just dont catch on.

He just sold another one on ebay for 66 bucks. If you look at it that way, you did real good.
