Inspired by one of my favorite threads, "Post an Ike," I thought I'd start one for Peace Dollars.

I've really come to love this coin in the past several months. The eagle on the reverse was the first thing that grabbed me, but I like this version of Liberty on the obverse, too.

I'll start with a few from my own modest collection, housed in a Dansco. I've tried to stick with a range around MS 60-63, but I know that certain dates are going to have to be lower given my budget.

Sorry for the image quality; it'll be a while before I'm an accomplished numismatic photographer.

Here are two coins I picked up. You can't see the toning to well on the 1923. I posted the teletrade pictures if I'm not allowed to post them let me know.

Zach, those are nice. I bet the toning looks better in hand.

Thank you. This is the one I was talking about on the other thread. Notice the fingerprint off Liberty's lips? The rectangular shaped goo on her neck is the glue residue from a price sticker some genius placed on the coin before it was slabbed. Other than that I like it and got a deal on it. The seller was asking $45 for it but I talked them down to $35 because of those marks on the obverse.

Oh man -- glue right on the coin? Sheesh. Glad you talked down the price.

It looks like residue from a rectangular price sticker.

WalkingD, is that a real one as there is something about it that looks fake I'm afraid to say...

Like the uneveness of the rim both sides which is sinonymous with casting?

Gotta agree with ya Duke! Her eye doesn't look right and the birds feathers toward the bottom look highly suspect. Terrible! The more I look at it the worst it gets. Nose bump, bun on her head. Sorry WalkingD but I think you may need a consult on that one. :crying:

My 21 has beautiful luster, but there are some hairlines that break the luster behind the head. the "old" ICG bagged it as "altered surfaces" a few years ago. I' m sure it isn't whizzed or anything, the flow lines are there,I think they just didn't like the patch of hairlines.

I vote "genuine" on WalkerD's 1921 Peace. It has a beautiful 'circam' look.
