The following 1935 P Peace Dollar is graded NGC MS-63. The obverse surfaces are mark free, and the reverse is almost mark free. Any chance at this regrading MS-64/65?
Very seriously doubt it. The surface looks quite grainy in the pics and there are more than enough hits to keep that coin from grading any higher.
Unless you can remove the word "likely" from your explanation, and again; if your photographs have all this erroneous detail in them, how are we to give an accurate opinion to the original question?
MS-63 is a fair grade for the condition of this coin. It compares almost identically to one I have that graded MS-63 with luster, and wear.
I understand what you are saying about the photo but the hits are not on the slab. The obverse is pretty clean but the reverse has grade limiting marks that will preclude any chance at an upgrade. There are a number of moderate sized marks. A series of marks above the "N" in ONE, another series above the eagle on the 5th ray, and a bunch one the eagle with a major mark under the "E" in ONE. Doug called the coin grainy in appearance. The below average strike gives the coin a rather subdued overall appearance. It just doesn't have the look of a choice BU Peace Dollar. In fact, it has a very similar appearance to my MS62 1935 Peace Dollar. BTW, this is not an easy series to grade no matter what some might say. IMO, your coin has no chance at an upgrade an I doubt it would even get a green CAC sticker.
