physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I've had this one for a little while, but just now got around to taking pictures of it. Actually, I had forgotten about it and it got buried on my desk under that collection I have for sale in the marketplace.

Well, I finally got all those coins listed for sale, and cleared off my desk a bit and rediscovered this coin! So here are pictures of it: NGC MS-66 DPL! The liquid mirrors are deep and clear, absolutely gorgeous. I don't have my 2002D MS-67PL available for direct comparison at the moment because I sent it to Bob for pics, but trust me when I say this one is way more reflective.

Incidentally, this coin is from the Millenium Coin and Currency set. Nearly all the Sacagaweas from this set were prooflike - NGC has graded 3706 PL's from 2000D (with nearly all of them designated as Millenium set coins on the slab). Additionally, they have graded 34 of these Millenium set coins as DPL.

(the ugly scratch across her forehead is on the slab)

Nice one, Jason. One of our esteemed members at NGC just told me of getting one of the Millennium Sac's back in MS68PL. I wished I had bought some of those sets when they first came out.

The obverse of the 2000-D looks like it had a application of lacquer. That must look pretty good in-hand.

    Thanks for sharing.

    That's because they were burnished.

No, they were burnished after striking.

edit - I'm mixing myself up. These were burnished before striking. It was only some of the Goodacre coins that were burnished post strike.

no no not that you used to have a good burnished coin story just like treasure whitehouse and 1964 stories. I want to hear that one again. you can even post a link if you like :D
