But what does this have to do with whats on our currency? If over 90% of people already believe in something it seems redundant to clutter up our circulating money with it. The motto doesn't bother me, like I suspect in reality, aside from the sake of agrueing, it doesn't bother most, but it is just one more thing making our money ugly by taking away space that would best be used by design, not meaningless wordage.

Your numbers are not reality but I couldn't care less what the actual numbers really are. But I can hardly call believing in a mythical being "wise". People used to believe in the gods of Olympus, people used to believe in the Egyptian gods, people still believe in the Hindu gods. Why is believing in the current version anymore realistic than anything that has been believed in the past? Oh yeah, we are "LESS" superstitious now days. Right!

I don't mind it being on our money as much as I dislike the uproar caused whenever a coin is minted without the motto.

"Godless"dollars, "Atheist" dollars. All Huey!!! They changed the design of the presidential dollars because the motto was missing from the edge of some of the coins. There's a national emergency if I ever saw one!

What aggravates me most about this is that the coin was also missing the DATE AND MINT MARK but no furor about that. Why so upset about a motto missing (enough to change the design mid-series) but no worries about dateless coins?

I think that the priority here is skewed. That's what upsets me most about IGWT on coins. That the US Mint feels IGWT is more important than the date and mint of manufacture.

Not at all Mike. What the mint feels is more important is getting all the stories out of the newspapers.

That was the point of my siting the references. They are not "my" numbers. One is from Fox. So you think Fox slants the news, the other is from MSNBC. I know they slant the news.

As for your "used to's", people today are more educated than they "used to" be. The last I heard, "believing in the current version" has increased and is increasing in popularity. Sorry, but I will have to let you dig up the reference for that statistic.

In all fairness. All media is slanted in one way or another. It tends to follow the leanings of its editorial staff.

The only way to be fair in reporting is to simply state facts. Unfortunately, you then have to state all of the facts because you can slant even factual reporting by omission of key facts.

Unfortunately people confuse media with actual news reporting. It is not. It is most accurately described as entertainment. It is meant to bring an audience to advertisers and make revenue. Nothing more.

Fox has tried to dominate the more conservative reporting niche in cable news, msnbc has aimed at the more liberal side. But there are hundreds of others and they all compete for your attention and money. None of the media are there as a matter of philanthropy! People should keep this in mind when consuming it.

Interestingly enough, Fox News has it's on-air personalities out raising money for Republican candidates and to date they have raised millions of dollars while being advertised with the Fox News logo to promote the event. MSNBC, CNN, CBS, you name it, you'll never see them out raising money for Democratic candidates while Fox does it routinely for Republicans. There simply isn't another mainstream media organization that would even consider crossing the lines Fox crosses every day. Fair and balanced! What a joke.

Republican parties and officials have routinely touted these personalities' affiliations with Fox News to sell and promote their events.
