That,s so cool!! Great pics!! Though Chumlee and the oldman could have Been a little more enthusiastic.....LOL
In analyzing the photo,s further it looks like Chum either just finished a fatty or Stayed at the bar a little to long
These are pawn shop owners and employees, not cheerleaders. Besides, the expressions on their faces pretty much mirror how they looked on the actual show. Rick is always the enthusiastic business owner, Chumlee is a space cadet, and the old man is, OLD!
Yep that's a good summary ... but seriously from what I saw, they get hundreds of folks in there a day and the fact that they are willing to even stand and take pictures is pretty amazing. I read somewhere that they used to average 70 customers a day and now they get a 1,000 per day. Cha-ching! And although folks weren't buying alot of stuff that had been pawned, they were buying up T-shirts. Of course I came home with two myself.
So, some chick just said she found a Gaudens double eagle in a safe in her house while renovating... let's see what she sells it for...
This is a repeat episode. I won't give it away except rick buy the coin. It seems like I saw all these about a year ago, but they are still fun. Enjoy
i can not wait to go to vegas this summer, to go there! i am definitely going to get some sort of coin from there, hopefully get some pictures taken. i would love to take an antique or two out there to sell them. i need to find something small enough, but worth it to take!
I'm going to stop by their store next week and maybe get a coin. Might pay too much, but it would be cool to get my picture taken with Rick.
He was extremely fair with that SG $20. It will certainly be good for business. It reminds me of that Littleton Ad on the bill that was worth $240K at auction, that they dared not buy themselves.
Iam sure the whole gang is getting compensated real well for There "Gig" on the history channel even poor Chum lee! Atleast They could put on a smile, Ok Rick,s excluded from that statement He,s the one thats probably getting paid the most so he,s smiling All the way to the bank
I don't think the old man is OLD. He's probably about 62-63. Man, that aint OLD ! He was probably only a year or two behind me in school. LOL
I believe he's actually 78? Don't ask me where I heard that from, think it was a trivia question on the show.
I think they just call him "The Old Man" I think i saw a trivia question They started calling him this at 52!!
The old man said the other day that he was in the Navy when Eisenhower was president, so he's got to be in his early seventies.
Dude, We get it! You would smile and want them to smile In the casino business you can't always smile. The pawn business is the same way. Tell the customer that there family heirloom is a fake with a smile on your face and see how that works out for you buddy. Meanwhile, I will defer to the actual pawn shop employees who are ran a successful pawn business long before the History channel showed up on how to conduct themselves. I don't know how many pawn shops you have visited in your life, but smiling is not a customary trait in my experience.
