This collection also has a lot of, shall we say, "upgrade potential" [IMG] It's chalk full of fillers that I obtained from junk lots, but I also got the dateless 1916 and the 1921 and multiple semi-keys from junk lots, so that was enough motivation to go for the whole set. I'm only missing 3 right now.

I have the 1919, and the 1924-D on the way, so the only one missing is the 1919-D. After I have the set completed and photographed, I'll send the dateless 1916 to ANACS for certification....and then I will start to upgrade. Opinions?

I kind of like it just the way it is.

They're beautiful all lined up like that. Not all of us can afford perfect everything, most of us are far from it. Be proud of what you have accomplished, I know I would be if I could show that off.

I think it is quite an accomplishment to finish the SLQ set in any grade, when you consider it is so small a run of coins and has a high occurance of harder to get coins in it.

Terrific score on getting the dateless 1916 from a junk lot. This series has many difficult coins when looking for pieces with full, strong dates.

Thanks all! I have posted the dateless 16 before, but here is a closeup. It looks like a FR-02, full obverse rim and some of the beading but lotsa reverse wear...

You have a very nice collectiion of liberties. This series is one of my favorites and also most challenging. My set is only 40% complete and they are tough to find that have detail. AG and G grades abound so your collection to me is already on the upgrade side lol.:D

  13. WOW thats awesome youll get the last one soon =)

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

It is mighty hard to finish an SLQ set, you have quite a collection there. Very nice! When I'm looking at a collection, I don't care so much what the grade is. I care more about the effort that went into it, and how they all look so nice together. Good job!

Thanks everyone! ;) Yeah, I'm having a blast putting it together. It's funny though, because the tougher dates seem to be the semi-keys, not the keys. The 1921 seems to be everywhere.

I do too. If you start upgrading you'll more than likely always just have a mismatched set unless you have big bucks to spend on the keys, and it will never look as nice as a complete set of matched lower grade coins. I like it!

Very nice set you have going there. :thumb:

It's cool to put together a complete set. As for upgrading, hey, if the the price is right, why not?
