Hi my wife works in the casino cage and came across these seqential onehundred dollar bills and one is misprinted. Its the one in the middle of the three. Is this of any value? I am a noob so sorry if you get this alot but now I have my wife looking for everything wierd that comes trough the cage! Thanks for any help!! If you click on the pic it will take you to a larger pic that you can zoon in on. Sorry I couldn't find out how to make it larger on here.
Absolutely! Fred Weinberg lists a $10 note on his site for $600 in which the black seal shifted to the right partially into the portrait. Chris PS. Be careful handling them. The oils from your skin can stain them.
If you don't need the money, I'd hang on to all three since they are consecutive #'s and the error is the middle note. Chris
Strange how the middle note has the green seal out of alignment But the first and third ones are ok??
How do you think they are printed? It's not just the seal but the SN and Treasury seal that's misaligned. They're not all on the same sheet right? because they stack a bunch of sheets, then cut and strap them, so the number for the first and second are on sheets above and below the misaligned note, right? I think that's how they are ordered, not consecutive numbers on the same sheet, otherwise how would they cut then stack them to strap? We need NUMBERS here to point out the sheet architecture of this mishap.
i would say keep all 3 notes. the one before and the one after are called bookends. basically it means they precede and proceed the error. nice find. as for value $600 seems a little steep but to the right collector it could fetch some pretty good money. :thumb:
Thanks. I guess I have learned a thing or two from you web site and other excellent pointers in the threads. :high5:
