After looking at numerous sources, I am confused about the final mintage numbers for the 2006 Franklin commemoratives. Can someone please clarify? Here is what I have so far (but not sure if American Legacy Collection (50,000) and Currency & Chronicles Set (50,000) are already included in the number issued: Founding Father BU: 58,000 issued Founding Father Proof: 142,000 issued + 50,000 (American Legacy Collection) = 192,000 Scientist BU: 58,000 issued + 50,000 (Currency & Chronicles) = 108,000 Scientist Proof: 142,000 Total: 58,000 + 192,000 + 108,000 + 142,000 = 500,000 Thanks, TC
Good God ! Has it been 4 years already since that thing came out ? As I recall, total maximum mintage was 500,000. And if I recall it was a sell out. So I'd say your numbers are correct.
Wow, that many coin & chronicles sets..... If you add the Red Book (2008) numbers up, it tallies 400,000. I thought the Coin & chronicles and the legacy sets were each limited to a maximum mintage of 50,000 each. Using that formula you come up with 500,000.
That's were I am confused. If you use the Red Book numbers, it seems that the Legacy set and Chronicles set are already included in number issued, as follows: Founding Father BU: 58,000 issued Founding Father Proof: 142,000 issued (includes 50,000 from American Legacy Collection) Scientist BU: 58,000 issued (includes 50,000 from Chronicles set) Scientist Proof: 142,000 Total: 58,000 + 142,000 + 58,000 + 142,000 = 400,000 However, other places have the total at 500,000 which to me means that those two sets are not included. The US Mint website is no help. TC
