I've bought tons of stuff off ebay, but now I want to try to sell. Is it hard to get started? The internet information confuses me. Are there any up front fees. Any info will be great. Thanks.
Take it from someone thats been there and done that!! Its a royal pain In the butt, One of your first steps is you will have to establish a seller Account on e-bay, If you already dont have a regular account you will Have to have a minimum amount of transactions, I believe its 25 unless Thats been changed, Next you will have to establish a pay pal account Which is mandatory!!! Then get ready to be hit by huge fees!!! So whats the alternative? I suggest e-bid.net thats where i moved To, If you plan on selling alot i recommend a life time seller account Its only $44.95 and thats forever!! No listing fees, No final Value Fees Absolutely nothing!! e-bid doesnt have the traffic e-bay does, But Its painless to the wallet and another bonus is they dont force you To get Pay-Pal
That,s always something to consider, But in addition to the fees you Will have to pay anyway to e-bay and pay-pal, You will also have To pay someone else to list it!! Unless you have friend who will do i It for free?
Right now I am a stalled out seller not listing anything on eBay. I just hate their fees so much. I list on coinbug but it is slow with lower traffic. Some items have sold on coinbug. Other than that I list right here on the open section of CT.
What do you mean by huge fees? I want to start by selling just one Morgan. What kind of fees are we talking about? Do I have to have the money for the fees up front, or do they deduct it from the sell?
With the EBay fees and paypal fees it's cost north of 12%. On another note I had a buyer who won an note more then a week ago in an auction email me today and say he wanted to cancel the transaction... as he didn't have the money to pay for it... but he received positive feedback for a same series note he purchased 2 days after mine closed which he obviously paid for. There are quite a few flaky people and weirdo's on EBay. My blocked bidder list has more then 20 names on it for stuff like this. This is something you have to deal with... I got my fees back but now I have to list it again. I could and should have made him pay for it as he had agreed to... but it's not worth the hassle...
The kicker is that I couldn't leave negative feedback for this buyer if I wanted to... there is no system in place for that... I would have to leave a positive to tell him how I feel...
Yeah, that's kinda chaped me that Ebay only allows you to leave postive, neutral, or no feedback now on dirtbag buyers.
I played with the ebay calculator. I started the bid at 0.00 with 1.00 s&h. Let's say it sold for 20 bucks. According to the calculator, the ebay fee would be 2.90 and the paypal fee is .91. My profit is 17.19. Does this sound right? Do they take the fees from the sell or do I have to pay for it first?
Sorry for so many questions. So when ebay bills me, do they just take it from paypal or do I have to physically send them a check? I went through the motions on ebay. Since I already have an account, it doesn't look too hard to do.
You can pay them via your bank account or credit card. If you don't they'll just take it out for you on a set date.
