Can I vote for copper to be banned from all future rounds .

 

It could be worse, he could start throwing gold into the mix. I must admit that I am at the mercy of the TPG's when it comes to grading gold coins. I have no idea what I am doing and it is not uncommon for me to be off by 2 whole grades.

 

Shhh, don't give him any ideas. . I agree though, I'm bad with copper, but gold (especially Indians) I'm down right terrible.

I now have a bad feeling the next round will be all copper and gold .

The scores will be even if we switch the scoring system, no need to request gold coins.:bigeyes:

 

I think it should go by the actual grades and not count the points between grades that dont really exist. Plus a tighter horse race means more fun for all.

Good points on both sides of the issue imo... and I'm relatively impartial to the outcome,, so if your passionate about the scoring or want to change it... vote !

Ya'll are safe from gold... I have a couple raw, but going after the cert'ed collection bug hasn't bit me... I'm still trying to complete a MS'ish set of cents,, then probably on to WL halves or Merc's or Morgs or Peace..... then who knows,, probably be dead by the time I get to gold.

 

i vote to change the scoring. it makes more sense to me that if a person votes vf20 and it's really vf25 that the score shows them as 1 off, not 5 off.

 

I also vote for the scoring change...makes sense.just out of curiosity how will you penalize for missing the circulated grades 2for1?

 

No,, I will not weight the scores beyond what Lehigh described if we make the change.. and I'm really not sure I know all the grading increments correctly (need to validate that also).

If the change is incorporated, currently at 3-1 in favor for the change. The following misses would be equivalent (I think):
1 - Calling a G4 coin F15 would be the same as calling a MS60 coin MS65. I think it skews the task toward those good at calling MS grades,, but that's just me.

Anyway,, someone please validate my understanding of increments.

I've thought about the scoring before but it's Bahabully's so just figured he'd do it his way.
I see LeHigh's point but you can nit pick the scoring lots of ways. Like what happens when you get a color right/wrong or a variety right/wrong?
Just look at they scoring conversations for the Registry's that goes on every day for years now.
When the Cent contest was on there was lots color/variety's then too...
EIther way is cool with me as long as it's constant.
