I have a friend who finds things and asks my advice (poor soul). I try and tell him what I know, but often run up against snags. He is very enthused right now about a 1958 cent he has found that he thinks might be a DDO. His pictures are not among the best, but here goes... first the PCGS 1958 DDO

Now a couple of detail photos from him

The doubling is different from the PCGS, but doesn't look like MD to me...input?

expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else

The way it is spreading toward the rim, looks a lot like die deterioration doubling, IMO

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Yes, that was my first thought as well. Just an old worn out die.

Could it be Die Deterioration Doubling? I'll ask for a picture of the "liberty'. Are there other DDO's for this date?

Variety Vista is only showing 1, there may be other minor ones in the CONECA files.

I think it was caused by a worn die and it doubled pretty nicely but not a doubled die that you want.

I'd still keep it. To me that's one beautiful looking issue.
