well what is the oldest coin you've found in your change?

So far all of the replies have been from American members and as I'm trying to educate myself with American coinage it would be cool if you could describe the coin more and maybe add a price?

I think that it was a 1892 Indian Head cent.

I found a 1925 stone mountain half dollar in quite quite nice condition.

 

What are these coins worth?

the one I found was prob worth about 40$

Not a bad day to turn .50 into 40$

the one thing I cant find are war nickels! I can find silver dimes, quarters, half dollars, even a morgan silver dollar once.... but never found a single war nickle.

I found a 1909 Wheat cent (no S and no VDB of course). TC

1887 Indian Head Cent in Fine Condition.
Probably worth 1$ or so? But hey, from .01 to 1.00

The only thing I can think of is older wheat pennies. Now you have me wondering what I have pass on in my own change. :desk:

There are some of us who were born in the 40's, and it was still common to find IHC's, Barbers, SLQ's, etc. in circulated condition on into the late 50's and early 60's. So, the answers you get are relative to the ages of the respondents. I would imagine that someone your age would be amazed if they found a war nickel or a buff with no date.
