2- 81 P off center Jefferson nickels

I found these 2 > O/C strike ..... years ago searching bags....these surfaced in an old box I had put away....

Very nice. In my pile of coins from dad he must have tossed them… grrr lol. Very nice find.

 

Bottom one is definitely off-center.

Top one I believe is a Misaligned Die.... the reverse does not appear to be off. For a true off-center, both sides should be equally off-centered.

 

So pretty too. Not the correct terminology but true lol.

Huh... the reverse of that one is a bit... plain.

I'd wager that there was another planchet in there, and it struck through. If it were a normal off center, you'd see a bit of the reverse die as well. What do you think, @JCro57 ?

 

Dude... I don't know what a "Unioface" reverse is? Is that some new term they invented while I was on hiatus?

 

Uniface reverse is a standard term

 

Read the slab carefully. I know what a uniface reverse means
