Its a fractional from India (Hydrabad Princely state). Looks like a 2 anna. Can't see enough details for the date.

I edited to say I'm no longer sure of the date. Yes, the date should be there, in Arabic numerals. There is both an acension date and a year of reign. The photo is not high resolution enough for me to see it.

yes its a variety of a 1757 2 reales minted in Mexico city. The final 7 is over a 6. There aré several different 7/6 varieties for that year at that mint.

Searching for varieties is fun. Keep looking and you may find another one.

Hi: I just joined about 30 minutes ago.
I'm not a coin "Pro" - know just enough to get in trouble. :))
I do not recognize the writing on your coin, However, I do recognize the two towers joined on the back. It commerates the worlds two tallest towers, with an adjoining bridge, and they are in Indonesia. Not certain, but I seem to remember they are in Jakarta, or close. So - my suggestion is Google, "Asia's two tallest towers" - etc. and you'll probably have a lead to determining what your coin is.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Good luck,

You refer to the Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. What is being represented on this coin is the entrance to the Chahar Minar mosque, India.

Oh well, The two towers being joined by a bridge it what made me think it was from there. As I have plainly stated in my last blurb, I know U.S. Coins and do not know a darn thing about foreign. Yet, the reason I joined was -- I just discovered and purchased a bag of roughly 275 European coins. Why purchase them not knowing anything about them? I noted about 50% of them were in the 1800s and a couple in the 1700s, and the condition of them was unusually good. Hense, why I joined this forum. Hopefully, it will be helpful in determining what I have. As stated in my mail to Peter, one coin I found info on on, on another site says "0" minted, only proofs minted. yet I have one from the bag -- that might grade a VF-40 to MS 50. Hopefully, it is not a fake.
Hence, why I joined. As stated, I'm strickly a neophyte on Foreign coins.
