Reading from the past the last time you had a streak like this when you broke it bobbeth you hit the jackpot with the finds so hopefully you will break your shutout streak.

I hope you are right....I could use a little jackpot now. Then again, I could use a single find in a box.....

I did find 5 more rolls of 2010 cents today....So I have a shade more than a box...

    13 and 0

Well, I guess I have the thread record now.

I opened my 13th box of halves in a row without a single silver coin. :desk: This one had dozens and dozens of mint state 1995 P coins.

It is to the point that when I open a roll, I don't have any hope that there is a keeper in there.......and that is what is so addicting about roll searching. Without the hope, the fun fades quickly. I'm a bit frustrated, can you tell? Oh well, back at it tomorrow.

How high do you think I'll reach?

I feel your pain. I haven't had a keeper from a roll in about two months.

Just a reminder to regain perspective

Although I empathize with his unfortunate streak , maybe it will help to remind you bank box guys that you are WAY ahead of many of us roll searches since you are getting the objects you search at face value. Every time you guys find even a single 40%'er , you are ahead of the game.

Now for us un-searched wheat roll gamblers

I am SOOO excited about a shipment I am waiting on.

When my ( 250 rolls ) 85.7047 lbs worth of IHC's & Wheats rolls show up this week, I will definitely post some ( hopefully LOTS ) of my noteworthy finds here :D

Since last week, I searched three more boxes of half dollar coins and did not find any silver. However, I did find two 2010 P and one 2010 D Kennedy half dollars. Now my collection of business strike half dollars is current again.

    My first boxes

Over th last week I've searched two boxes of nickels and three boxes of cents. I usually go through one per night as I work third shift at a hotel can usually find 2-3 hours to hunt. So far the first and last rolls have had all the good stuff lol

    I've found
    3 war time nickels
    1938 blank
    1939 blank
    1994-s proof nickel (beautiful!)
    ~20 common wheats
1911-D wheat G-4 (my first attempt at grading)

hoping to go through another box of cents with my brother on Wednesday and a box of halves my bank ordered for me on Thursday!

last batch I got 100 in quaters, 50 in dimes, and 100 in nickels. I found my second silver quarter in a month, and 3 silver dimes, but nothing special in the nickels.

I was wondering about finding silver in the quarters, thinking I would not get many but 2 in the last $300 is not bad. My favorite are the nickels though, what do you think the chances of putting together an entire 38-61 nickel book from circulation are?

Doable, but you may have to "fill some holes". I have not yet found any 38-39 not from Philly for my son's album, and I have "supplemented" by buying some of the war nickels when he is good. (Although I did find the 50D, which is also supposed to be difficult).

The 50D is what gives me hope. I found a 39D, second lowest mintage, and in excellent shape as well. I have not found any 38s, but have 4-5 39's from philly. We will see, but that is my current goal.

    Silver

Running dry as well, only found 1 silver half in last 10 boxes. All my silver comes from tellers nowadays.

    Just finished searching 4 boxes of halves that I got this morning. Box#1: 7 40%ers 1 90%. Box#2: 6 40%ers 1 90%. Box#3: 240%ers 3 90%. Box#4: 6 40%ers 2 90%. Totaling out at 21 40%ers and 7 90%. My last 13 boxes have looked like this.....16/14/37/0/2/4/8/0/0/8/7/5/8. I have never had a long string of good boxes ever. I am most likely jinxing myself by writing this but o-well. Box number 14 is your luckey box Bob I feel it!!!!!:D

i got a roll of quarters on saturday and found something interesting, at least to me. the first 3 quarters pulled from the roll, in order, were 1965, 1966, and 1967! that got me thinking that i got someone's collection placed in order, but then the 4th quarter pulled was a guam quarter. that just made me laugh.

Went through 100 on quarter and nothing. 25 in dimes and nothing. 100 in nickels and found 1920 buffalo and 1938d in pretty bad shape, but semi key still:)

Hey, question for you guys that bust rolls of halfs. Do you keep the bicentennials or toss them back in? I just busted $50 worth of rolls today, and pulled a '64 out of one of them, along with 11 bicentennials. I'm gonna guess they're tossbacks?

Also, do the 40% silver ('65-70) look different on the sides than the modern halfs? In terms of the copper color, that is.
