There were only five 1913 Liberty Head Nickels ever minted. That was the year they changed from the Liberty Head "V" Nickel to the Buffalo Nickel. The last one sold at auction (January 2010) went for $3.73 million. If you would like to learn more about the 1913 Liberty Nickel, the Heritage auction archive has a great write up.

I'll stick to coins that I want for reasons OTHER than pure value.
My current chance of actually getting the coins are rated from 0 (= no way) to 10 (= as soon as I see one)

$20 1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens (XF or better) - it's the only 20th century type that's missing from my type set (NGC listing). CHANCE = 0

$1 1895 Morgan (XF or better) - although I rarely collect proofs, I'll make an exception in this case; I have an example of all the other date/mm Morgans (VAM's not considered) CHANCE = 0

5¢ 1915-S Buffalo Nickel (XF or AU) - need one to replace the one I have which has serious damage. Why only XF or AU? Because it will match the rest of my set. CHANCE = 8 (tough to find in the desired grade and problem-free)

1¢ 1915-S Lincoln Cent (XF or AU) - need one to replace the one I have which has a couple spots of verdigris. Why only XF or AU? Because it will match the rest of my set. CHANCE = 8 (tough to find in the desired grade and problem-free)

1¢ 1941 Lincoln Cent (PF-65 or -66) - it's the only coin missing from my birthyear set. Not hard to find BUT so far all the ones I've seen are either overpriced or have a problem (spots). CHANCE = 9 (tough to find without problems)

    Those are my top 5.
There's plenty more waiting to move up.

There was a rumor that a 6th 1913 Liberty Head Nickel existed, but I don't recall the reference. Can anybody help?

I found one out of a nickel slot machine in Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay in 1960, but I spent it.

There is a book called MILLION DOLLAR NICKELS written by Paul Montgomery, Mark Borckardt, and Ray Knight about the 1913 Liberty Head nickels. The book addresses the the question in a section of Chapter 3: Covert Origins entitled "Are There More Than Five" (pg 54).

The theory basically revolves around George Walton declaring in a 1953 interview with the Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine that there were 6 nickels. However, the book goes on to show how Walton contradicted his own claims of a sixth nickel on other occasions.

I should really re-read the book, it is full of valuable information.

    My wishlist

I would love to have a 1932-D Quarter. My local coinshop has a VG for $145.00 that I have been eyeing for some time should bite the bullet and just get it.
Also I would like any Carson City Morgan dollar AU to UNC.
a 1964-D Kennedy Half dollar that I find in circulation.
1932-S Quarter in at least VG or better
1909-SVDB Lincoln for my son it is the only Lincoln he does not have.
