A few good scores on my latest box of nickles were highlighted by a 1944-P and a low mintage 2009-D. The low decade count were six each from the 40's and 50's.
I haven't seen a single 2009 nickel in circulation. Not a one. I read somewhere that most of them went to Puerto Rico.
They don’t come along often but you can run into them every now and then. Since I resumed coin collecting twelve years or so in my twilight years I have come across around 25 of them. Always excited to find one!
