i dont know anythin about coin proofs or how to rate condition but i have a 1907 but date is in roman numerals st. gaudens $20 walking lady liberty coin and im wonderin how much it might be worth. and if possible i also have an 1895 p morgan dollar coin, a 1913 buffalo nickle, and a 1909 s lincoln penny they are all the large coins. if someone can help me out with an estimate on these it would be greatly appreciated thank u
Unless for metal content, if these do indeed contain precious metals, your coins are fakes...pretty bad fakes at that. -LTB
He is saying they are fake because it's blatantly obvious that they are.. they look like cartoons of the coins they try to replicate. Your Morgan dollar looks like a chick that has had one to many Big Macs...
I don't think these were intended to be passed off as fakes; I think they were created as novelty items. They are all the same size and are oversized. Maybe around 3-4 inches each??? -LTB
i dont know i dont know coins i just find it weird because i found them all with a medal detecter except the penny.
What a unique metal detecting find. So in answering your original question regarding worth; I don't know as most coin collectors would not even want items such as these since they are not coins. I would even go out on a limb and say that these probably hold more value to you as conversation pieces for your neat finds, than they would a monetary value for someone else. But who knows, people collect anything and although unlikely, there could be a collector(s) out there right now searching high and low for novelty items such as yours -LTB
well thanks for the help and one final question for future reference on these coins wat is the average length roughly
The diameter for each: Morgan dollar = 38.1 mm Lincoln Cent = 19.05 mm Buffalo Nickel = 21.21 mm St. Gaudens Double Gold Eagle = 34.1 mm -LTB
Coin dont really have a length as they are round. They can be measured in radius, diamater and I suppose perimeter and thickness. The lincoln cent you would be the overall size of any US lincoln penny you may have ever seen. The Indian/Buff nickel would be the size of any Jefferson Nickel you have ever seen. The morgan and St gaudens woul both be smaller than what you have there with the gaudens coming in a few differnet sizes.
