Picked this one up at the NWCC show last month. Have a stab at the grade. Any and all comments welcome. I'll reveal the grade tomorrow.

I'm going with MS-64 BN. I'd have called it 65 except for that "something" at A3 on the reverse. I downloaded and blew it up but still couldn't tell if it was a slab thing or on the coin. There's a little something happening between 5 and 0 on the date but it's not much. Rims are clean and dentilation is almost full, a little weak from K3 to K7 obverse. Nice luster and color.

A very nice coin. Please tell me the thing at A3 is on the slab.

Yes, the "something" on the reverse is a hit on the slab.

I have to go at least MS-65, Brown with this piece. It has a lot flash and appears to have almost no problems.

Then I'm in at 65 BN. It just doesn't have quite enough to make to RB, IMO. It's a very nice coin.

I bought this piece, among others, from Tom Reynolds. He laid out a bunch of the type for me and this was the nicest one (even over a couple 65's IMO). I am very happy with this coin, it's now one of my favorites. I also bought a few half cents from Tom and I'll put up some GTG's on those in the near future as well.

I believe this coin is undergraded at 64. I've seen many worse in 65 holders. This one is so much nicer. If mine, I think I'd send it to CAC (if that's even still an option).

I think I'll bring this one to my local dealer as I know they've submitted before to CAC.

Sorry, I thought I had adjusted that post. According to my records, that 1850 large cent is grade MS-63, Brown. I bought it from "the colonel, Butternut Numismatics."
