Have a strange dime looks doubled and also the JS isnt there and it seems to be more to the north east on his neck not underneath his neck
here we go, it isnt so closeup, but its the best, caus my scope only shows real close, this was photo with my camera, txt me and I will show u on my cell 347 737 0042 and u can enlarge it
In God We Trust and the area around the date and lower neck are scuffed and damaged. The doubling is due to worn dies. Weak initials (there are still remnants) to the left of the date are due to heavy die wear. They were on the original die. Not an error or variety of any kind
No. Die deterioration is common and nobody pays a premium for damage. Your coin is worth 10 cents. Spend it
to bad there was such thing of die deteriation, other wise there would be thousands more errors around lol
Not to mention that the coin has coin roller damage also, tis a good way to move (remove) some metal.
can someone tell me which has the trumpet, the rare 1946 s or not familiar with that variety or error, thanks
There were 3 MM styles used on the 46S Lincoln. MMS-004, 006, 007 http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/San Francisco Mintmark Styles.htm
That would fall under the Variety Category. Also the following .. RPM - Repunched Mint Mark Doubled Die Small Date & Large Date Close AM & Wide AM
I just dont know why the s's are different looking ,unless I hav the rare trumpet s on the 1946 penny, any help out there
The style sure looks like a trumpet tail. The MM has been flattened and distorted a bit by circulation.
