Hello friends, got this coin back from NGC. Please feel free to guess the grade. Next Monday I will tell you the result.
At first glance, it presents as a gem grade coin, but the seemingly large abrasion on the portrait behind the mustache might preclude a gem grade. Upon closer inspection, there are a number of smaller marks that would be consistent with a gem grade coin, but cumulatively would even further cause a grader to think this just misses gem. My guess: MS64+ That said, I know nothing about this series or how they grade it, and without the coin in hand, for all I know, that seemingly large abrasion in the obverse focal area might just be a luster graze.
