Hi guys, I really love this coin and I'm probably going to bid for it, let me know what you think! Its an Edward VI Sixpence (Edward died at 12 years old I believe and he was Henry VIII's son) Me and another member looked closely at the coin and if you look at the bottom right of the coin it has bubbles, is this a copy?
Well at 1st glance I have to say it dont look right, I might well be wrong my eye sight is not the greatest any more but I woudnt buy it
Frank, Don't know anything about the coin type ..... but bubbles and coins planchets don't add updd: I'd pass
Thankyou, I totally agree with you. Its strange, the person selling this particular coin has so much other stuff for sale. Maybe he/she bought the coin thinking it was genuine...I don't know.
Hers a pic of a Edward VI schilling, notice the head on this one is noticeably smaller. the one you have the portrait looks kinda Chinese in appearance!
The picture here.the metal looks thicker like silver, along with the color.the other one looks like tin & silver mixture, that has been beaten or tapped around the edges.it lacks that "thick look" and color
The bubbles are a dead giveaway. Save the photo for your files Frank but I wouldn't bid on this in a million years.
Thanks for the support guys, I emailed the seller and he insists it is genuine and he paid £200 for it. I'm 100% not going to bid on this anymore.
Its worth more than that if its genuine and I don't think it is. The seller claims hes been a coin dealer for 25 years and he owns 3 antique shops...
