Great day for roll searching again. Searched a box of pennies and came out with 17 wheats including a 1910,1913, and 1918. 1910 was in pretty good condition surprisingly. Also found 3 log cabins and 8 rail splitters.

    Guys,

I gotta tell ya, you all have taught me a lot about coin collecting, buying, and selling etc. the latter being my topic here.

After reading that some of you guys have been buying your coins on eBay, I had to wonder (having been ripped off on eBay more then once) if I could trust even that type of advice, or suggestion from the best in the coin collecting world. The answer now is yes I can.

Recently, I purchased a roll of 1900 – 1958 US cents for $9.00 for my kid’s penny collection. I was like the child waiting on pins and needles for my coins to arrive I was beyond belief when I got the padded mailer in the house last night and discovered a ripped hole in the back of the package with only the receipt of purchase inside. I couldn’t believe it. What the HELL!?!

This morning I contacted the Seller, who was driving his car down a CA Freeway promising me to replace the roll at no charge of any kind and that he would try to send me coins that were of the same date and quality of the ones he had originally sent.

The Seller, Jack at PharSide Solutions in Richmond, CA to me has stepped up to the plate to do something rarely done eBay Sellers I understand. He has ethics and he stands behind them. I will probably buy more coins from Jack in the near future.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your knowledge!

2 boxes of halves yielded 31-40%, 4-90%. 2 boxes of quarters, NOTHING. Anyone else search quarter boxes? Those two may be my last (I'll just get more halves :)

Did you know that Bank of America has their own regional storage facilities, and all coins are recycled through them? What this means is that if you are ordering boxes from your BoA branch to search on a regular basis, say weekly or monthly, you are searching many of the same coins over and over.

    10 in a row!

    OK, this is getting ridiculous.

Searched another box of halves today, and another silver shutout.
10 shutouts in a row. :desk: This box again had about 40 or more post 2002 Kennedys in great shape, AU or better, but big whoop.

I did get a 1942 wheatie in change....:)

Look back in the thread , there are a few of us who do nothing but pennies at this time. I do $25.00 bank boxes and unsearched wheat bags.

    Peace

Went through 3 boxes of dimes. One box was half hand rolled. Found a 1944 Mercury Dime which was exciting. Also found a 1959 and 1960 Dime. On to another box!

Unsearched by whom? John Hancock? George Washington? Ben Franklin?

Sorry, but even an original Mint bag can be restitched.

I know , I know , The correct term for those "un-searched" wheat bags should be:

" the last 10,000 people to exam these here wheat pennies may have missed 1 special coin they did not know was special"

But as you can see that is a mouth full:)

PS. However, I do happen to have two original $50 Mint bags of 1974 Philly Lincolns, and 150 years from now I'll be able to truthfully sell them as totally unsearched.
