I've wanted a NM Saint for a long time, there seem to be bazillions of the 1908 issue, thanks to Ron Gillio and the WF "hoard." I ran across this one which I think is pretty nice at a fair price. Guess the grade if you like.
Although very true. There are many that would call rubs on the highpoints from stacking and perfectly acceptable in Gem and Premium Gem.
Here is a believed lustrous, correctly graded MS64 coin posted by @johnmilton, sans the rub/marks, flattened torch/forehead/fingers, rim damage? which "many" would say constitutes "Gem", and even MS66+ as I've posted here, that don't coincide with written grade definition for MS65 condition. JMHO
I believe that as several of us have indicated, relative to current grading standards, the coin meets MS64 criteria. The coin presented as a past MS64 specimen should thus currently be graded 1-2 grades greater. JMHO
I did think it looked better than typical. Why my grade. Probably a 66 wf hoard. Which is a 64 or s otherwise
I don't think it could get an MS-66. MS-65 it would be weak for the grade but I could see that sticking. But not 66.
I agree; there is too much fine chatter in the fields for a 66 (doesn't show up too well in my pics); I could see a 65 but probably no bean.
