Here is a metal detecting find that I've cleaned up, tell me what you think!

The Emperor is Claudius.

Amazing find!

I bet you were excited to pull that one out.

Being from the US, the best I can find are 1960's beer can pop tops.

Have you found much else that old and what area of the world are you searching?

 

that cleaned up good, what did you use to clean it?

 

I knocked up an electrolysis cleaner with an old mobile phone charger, if you like I can tell you how to make them.

It does an amazing job, honestly..

 

I live in Oxfordshire, it is a very active area all through periods of history.

Literally 2 minutes walk from my house there was a huge roman gold hoard found.

If you go out detecting for a night you'll be guaranteed to come back with a nice find, you do get chased by the odd farmer and sometimes the police though.

I'm going out tonight so wish me luck, I'll take a picture of all my finds and upload it!
