I still cant wait until the Elon Musk of the numastics world returns... To see the looks on all your faces... ;)

True he's been on sabbatical for awhile now... but I'm sure that when Mr. Edward Wood's opens his new office... the other TPG's will fold up like a cheap suit. :)
Like Ed always sez "we don't need any stinkin stickers" "We Got Wood"

Oh, they will do world and ancients etc. but not at first. They won’t be making the same mistakes that PSA and CGC etc are making by hiring people with insufficient skills and expertise. They will offer the service when they are able to make proper hires.

I have a better question. Will they cross ICG and ANACS?

A true player in the modern game should be able to give credit where it's due. A correctly graded coin should deserve the same status in the market.

    I haven’t thought to ask about this… but I don’t see a downside.

Why would they choke off their market, as such? I mean, I know they can, but why would they? I'm not a member and I'm not going to join them just to get a grade when I can give that business elsewhere and get a grade just as good if not better for all we know at this point. No TPG makes you join them to get a grade. They want to start off on that footing, good luck competing.

PCGS for a while only allowed authorized dealers to submit (collectors had to submit through one of those dealers). I think that limits the company but they might think it's easier (less complaints to deal with) and it might be necessary at first to prevent getting more submissions than they can handle (the company would have to make sure they have enough staff to handle all the paperwork, packing, unpacking, and general administrative tasks outside of simply grading coins).

It will be fascinating to see where they get sufficient graders from. All the TPGs are having issues, of course, it's low pay and mind-numbing numbers of ASE to grade.

I think someone like JA or any of the serious graders won’t even bother with modern issues. That’s for training newbies. Or don’t even bother with modern stuff

For those who didn’t drink the CAC sticker kool aid before, will their minds change now? I’d prefer high end coins with very strict grading requirements vs looser standards in order to get rid of sticker premium.

Having things essentially graded twice is
a waste of time and money, though a CAC coin usually brings a higher premium when attached to a premium
holder, like a PCGS one, I don’t particularly look for a CAC certification
as I like to buy A/U, S allot of times
there nicer then M/S 60-62,s at a fraction
of the cost :) I usually buy on appearance not so much the grade.

I am note sure how much, you would
actually sell people on a stand alone
CAC holder, it is an enhancement so
would be curious to see the value versus
other TPG holders, I guess it’s a wait
    and see.

The most pressing issue, of course, is whether CAC slabs will fit PCGS or NGC boxes or neither.

And, of course, I’m joking so the humorless among us and go ahead and calm down.

I’d like an upgraded small anacs style holder. I think it’d be pretty edited. Small black holder with crystal clear plastic and white label with black letters.

Had a couple like that once. One was a Draft Card and the other was a Status of Forces Agreement Card.
One was to screw you, and the other one was to screw you.

Do you know something about backlogs....volumes....wait times....now vs. 3 or 4 or 5 years ago....that would mirror what we have seen with baseball cards necessitating a 5th grading service (and presumably one that will challenge The Big Two) ?
    PCGS is now private.:p
Only way to do that is to find out what Steve Cohen and his partners are long and short it !! :D

You would think that TPGs and the coin industry would understand the principles of supply and demand. They certainly do with population reports and price ! :D

Raise the starting wage....VOILA....you'll get more quality people from the hobby who will consider a career working for a TPG.

Give them good benefits and perks, and you'll keep 'em.

It's really not rocket science. Speaking of which....we have a shortage of Rocket Scientists.....which means the defense contractors should....:D:D
