Just found a bag of assorted junk silver that I bought 12 years ago. I’m not seeing a high amount of dimes like I usually do but I am seeing a lot more quarters than normal. $100 face value so about an hours fun will be spent looking through this.
Junk silver coins at 15X, you've a $1500 bag already. Don't ask much under that as it's trending up, meaning dealers should be held to close to spot. One of our friends we used to search bank bags with just unloaded an obscene amount to an investor (not coin collector) who bought it on the come (meaning expecting it to appreciate). Of course if there's anything worth keeping, take that out first.
Don't forget to cherrypick for varieties etc,I can only dream to have that much!!!!good luck.I see a 1932 up topdid it have a mint mark?.
Not a single Dime in the lot. I think that’s a first. It was mostly Washington Quarters. There were a few half dollars and they were all Walkers except for one Franklin. I didn’t take the time to check dates, mint marks, rpm’s or varieties. I was hoping to find a few dates I’m missing in Whitman’s folders. I’ll find them one day. I did a post earlier this year in which I found all but 6 or 7 Walkers for the set. I had to go buy 2 more folders. After plugging the holes I went to my LCS and bought low grades to fill in the set. And I didn’t need all the key and semi-keys. I did the same thing with Mercury Dimes except for the 1916-D. I’ll get another low priced one in the future. Already have three of them. Also did the same with Roosevelt’s. I’m just missing one common date but I have more bags and rolls to look for the missing coin. I haven’t tried to do the same with Quarters. Maybe I will.
