So, I've read a little about this quarter and I'm not sure of its value, I've linked some images below, tell me what you think. IMG_1841.jpg IMG_1840.jpg

I think it looks like it's in good condition,
    Few Scratches but that's it.

In that condition, honestly it's not too bad of a coin. Probably worth... 26 cents?

It's a very common bicentennial quarter that catches every new collector out, it did me too. It's a commemorative coin from 1976, and this design took place of the normal design for the year of 1976, so it is not rare.

The quarters, halves and dollars were struck with the 1776-1976 dates in 1975 AND 1976.
Not rare, especially circulated, but not commonly found now in the wild.

First…Welcome to Coin Talk! There are several (more) things to tell you about these coins, but secondly, you need to work on your pictures as they are slightly out of focus.

The obverse of this Bicentennial quarter is showing wear consistent with a grade of around AU50-53, which is normal for its’ age. As @toned_morgan said, these were minted in the beaucoup millions for 2 years, are very common but getting very hard to find from circulation nowadays in decent shape.

The reverse shows some missing details on the drum. The center 2 vertical drum spindles are one of the highest areas of the reverse, the two spindle caps have been worn off, equating a grade of around maybe AU53-55 or so. There are other high points you can use to help you grade: the top frontmost section of the tricorn hat and the top of the patriots’ left shoulder. It helps to have a MS or proof picture of these to compare from.

Now, the bad news: The values on these begin to appreciate at Mint State 60, this straight from the NGC US Coin Catalog (online). So your coin may take another 30 years to garner any added value of consequence…imo…Spark

I was keeping these until I had a couple of rolls, and then thought "Why". Cashed them in.

Your quarter shows a lot of circulation. I just released 6 rolls into the wild last week, some of which were in better condition than yours. Here is one that's worth a few dollars. Sorry about the pictures! It's still in the plastic envelope it came in!

I still find these in circulation today. They minted that many. A few months ago I turned in about 8 rolls to the bank of quarters and 3 rolls of halves. I didn’t need the money but I just wanted to clear out some coins that will never be worth more than face value. I did keep the better ones.

A few years ago, I won an auction for a delinquent safety deposit box sold by the comptroller.
It was 4000 bicentennial quarters in mostly UNC or good shape.
I asked around and was told they are worth face value.
A few months afterwards I noticed people were paying 2x face on eBay.
    I have no idea why?
Maybe they are hoping to find some silver ones in the lot.
I had already returned all 4000 back into the wild.
Looks like there are still some people who are buying overpriced bicentennial quarters on eBay.
